4 Effective Remedies for Sensitive Dry Skin

Skin problems are our daily companion. People who have sensitive dry skin face many skin problems, which can be countered easily with some simple home remedies. Often we do not have time to visit a beauty salon for professional facial treatments but that should not stop us from taking care of the facial skin at home. Many easy home remedies nourish dry and sensitive skin from within and makes it glow, irrespective of the climate. Here are some home remedies for sensitive dry skin.

Banana and Yogurt:

Banana and yogurt are both easily available and inexpensive skin care ingredients. You may find them right now in your refrigerator. Mixing these two ingredients together you can make a nourishing and hydrating skin care mask to improve the health of your skin.

Chocolate:

Mix together cocoa powder, avocados and honey for preparing a gentle mask for your dry and sensitive skin. Chocolate can help in reducing stretch marks, scar marks and fine lines. You can apply the chocolate mask on different parts of your body. Along with the described home remedies maintaining a healthy diet and drinking lots of water is necessary for you.

Olive oil and egg yolk

Olive oil is also effective in fixing dry skin problems. When you mix a teaspoon of olive with egg yolk and honey, it turns into a good facial mask. This facial mask deeply moisturizes the facial skin. You can also mix a little bit of rose water in this pack. Olive oil contains Vitamin E and K that are necessary for the nourishment of the facial skin.

Almond oil

The almond oil is naturally rich in vitamin E. It is gentle on the dry, sensitive skin and soothes the irritated areas. Almond oil is also a lubricator that softens the skin and can be used for facial massages. This oil is non-greasy. Your skin will easily absorb the almond oil drops you massage into the skin. You should massage gently at least for five minutes and rinse your face clean with lukewarm water after keeping the oil on your face for 10 minutes. Almond oil is good for sensitive skin but if you are allergenic to nuts then avoid this oil. Oil extracted from nut may affect your skin adversely.

Summary
People with dry and sensitive skin cannot tolerate harsh chemical substances. They have to be careful about the skin care products they choose. Natural and herbal home remedies prepared at home are gentle on the skin and do not cause irritation.

Acne And Its Treatment

Acne is a menace. Nonetheless, it’s not something that cannot be treated. There are scores of acne treatment products about. We can separate acne skin care products into 3 noted categories

  1. General acne skin care products
  2. Specialised, over the counter acne skin care products
  3. Prescription acne skin care products.

The general acne skin care products are the ones that are used as an acne-prevention measure. These include cleansers, makeup removers and suchlike products that help prevent acne. In the real sense, these acne skin care products are just those that should in any event be a component of your everyday routine. Nonetheless, some of these are more oriented to work like an acne treatment. These acne skin care products act against the causes of acne e.g. restricting the production of sebum/oil and stopping clogging of skin pores. Basically, these acne skin care products stop the oil from getting trapped in pores and therefore hinder the growth of bacteria that lead to acne. The general acne skin care products also include exfoliation products like skin peels. These work towards getting rid of dead skin cells, therefore reducing the likelyhood of pore-clogging and bacteria growth.

Then there are specialised acne skin care products that are getable over-the-counter i.e. without the need of a prescription. These include products like vanishing creams which extract the excess oil from the skin. The bulk of these acne skin care products are based on benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, both of which are the foes of bacteria (and hence acne). You should begin with a product that has a lower concentration of benzoyl peroxide and see how your skin responds to it. Alpha-hydroxy-acid based moisturizers are also popular as acne skin care products. You might need to try a few, before you zero-in on the acne scar removal cream that is effectual for you. If nothing seems to work, you should contact a skin doctor.

On-prescription acne treatment products are the ones that are prescribed by a skin doctor. This can include ointments that can be put on on the affected region or oral antibiotics or simply any topical treatment. A dermatologist might also suggest a minor surgical procedure to remove the contents of pustules. Nevertheless, never try to squeeze or do this by yourself, it can result in irreversible impairment of your skin. Your physician might also prescribe a hormone-based treatment. Such acne skin care products are known to be very effective in some cases.

Favorite Skin Care Products

These are some of my favorite skin care products. I use them all pretty much on a daily basis. The only I don’t use daily is the Neutrogena Oil Eliminating Astringent (blue toner), because it is skin drying. It is recommended to use that about twice weekly and it does actually work wonders. Sometimes I’ll use it in the morning and apply a moisturizer afterwards or before I go to bed. The Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner is the best thing I’ve ever discovered! Is it really getting discontinued?. Seriously, gimme a break, lol! Every awesome thing I find is getting discontinued -___- it’s heartbreaking! But my skin is so much better from using this stuff. I rarely break out too, but I don’t know if it’s from using these products cause I’ve pretty much always had clear skin. BUT a monster always finds its way on my skin from time to time, lol. The St. Ives scrub does its job too. I use it when I’m in the shower and scrub all the way down my neck. It gets rid of blackhead and dead skin. It’s amazing how soft your skin feels after. Makes you think what the heck was on your skin to begin with…(ew, ew, ew!) I use the Olay Firming Cream EVERY single night!! I love that stuff!! My skin is so firm and I started using it about 3 months ago.. maybe?

That little teeny container has lasted me forever and a little of the product goes a long way. I’m down to probably the last use though. Next up is the Jergens Natural Glow Firming body lotion which makes my skin look so glowy… and tan, lol! I’m sort of already semi tan since I am from South America, but this just evens out my tone and gives me more of a tan look. It doesn’t make me look like I just sprayed on some fake tan or bronzer. I usually put it on after I shave my legs and let it dry before I get dressed. Lucky for me, I don’t have too shave too often since my hair grows slowwwww so I usually reapply three times a week after showers. I do a body scrub to sort of start all over again after I shave because the color can start to build up and you don’t wanna look all orange, girl. Lastly is the Ion Deep Repair Leave In Treatment for hair.. obviously, lol. I have to use it especially since I color my hair often thanks to having to retouch my red hair like 2-3 times a month, (see blog below for how I maintain my red hurrr). It’s worked wonders for my hair though. It says to apply to towel dried hair but I just let my hair sit in the towel for awhile and then just pump some in my hand and rub onto my hair while it’s still a bit damp. It smells SO good too! If I had to pick only two items from all of the ones mentioned, I’d probably go with the pore refining toner and the firming cream because I can definitely tell the difference after continuous use! What do you use?

How to make choice among various facial moisturizers?

Choosing the best skin care products can sometimes be a confusing. Choosing proper moisturizer among various available facial moisturizers is a big decision because selecting the wrong one could cause an allergic reaction. This is why natural skin care products are the best choice. They are ideal for hydrating all skin types without causing adverse reactions.

Some of the tips to choose the best facial moisturizer for your skin are:

  • You need to know the kind of moisturizing agents contained in the product. So read the label, if you find mineral oil and other petroleum by-products in ingredients, better you avoid buying it. These can clog your pores and make you have an acne breakout. Ingredients such as fragrances can cause allergic skin reactions as well.

  • Some of the ingredients can sound promising at the start, but they might not be the best for your skin. Some products include natural ingredients such as tea tree oil. Now, tea tree oil has many benefits, but they can also irritate sensitive skin.

  • Some top skin care products for face include significant amount of jojoba oil or shea butter. These two plant based substances are so much like the sebum or natural oil that our skin produces. Consider such facial moisturizers as there is hardly any risk of them causing skin irritation.

  • The most important tip is not to get impressed by celebrity endorsement. Not all of them personally use the skin care products they are endorsing. So, don’t forget to read the ingredients irrespective of who is endorsing the facial product.

The best facial moisturizers should be able to do more than merely moisturize your face on a temporary basis. They should contain ingredients that improve your skins ability to retain moisture and make your face feel softer and smoother.

Keeping above tips in mind, it would be easy for you to choose facial moisturizer that suits you the best.

8 Tips For Glowing Face

As we know, with the unlimited number of facial care products and techniques out there, it is hard to know what can be a true benefit for us in terms of caring for our delicate facial skin. Below is tips which may simplify facial skin care for us, guyz. Check it out:

1. Knowing our skin type is one of the most important facial skin care tips

This is important because not every skin care product suits everyone. In fact, all the skin care products specify the type of skin they cater too.

2. Drink a lot of water

This will not keep our skin moist but will help in overall upkeep of our health (and in turn our skin). It might seem a bit awkward to some, however, this is an important skin care tip.

3. Cleanse our skin regularly (1-2 times everyday)

This is a very effective skin care tip that helps in getting rid of the dirt and other harsh elements from our skin. Cleansing is especially important when we have been out of our house (and hence exposed to pollutants, dust etc). This skin care tip also advocates the use of lukewarm water for cleansing (hot and cold water, both, cause damage to our skin).

4. Be gentle, after all it’s our skin

Don’t scrub/exfoliate too hard or too often. Similarly, don’t apply too much or too many skin care products. This is a must-follow skin care tip.

5. Keep our skin moist at all times

This is one of the most important skin care tips. Don’t let our skin get dry. Dryness causes the outer layer of our skin to break, leading to a rough and unattractive appearance. Use moisturizers/ emollients. Moisturizers work best when applied while the skin is still damp.

6. Avoid the use of soap on our face

Soap should only be used from below the neck. A small but important skin care tip.

7. Use sunscreen to protect ourself from sun’s harmful UV radiations

We can use day-time moisturizers that have sunscreen built into them. Use them even when it’s cloudy. UV radiations are known to cause skin cancer, so follow this skin care tip without fail.

8. A bit of exercise and good sleep are essential too, not just for skin care but for our health as a whole

Lack of sleep can lead to formation of wrinkles below our eyes and lack of exercise can cause our skin to slack. Moreover, exercise and sleep also help in beating stress.
